THIERRY SIMÕESMikado

Performance
21 – 22 Jan 2014

For two days, around a table, texts are proposed: they can be born from a page or from a voice. Read, recorded, copied, written: the idea is to turn Sismógrafo into a place where it will be possible to exchange words and untimely ideas. We hope for the act of creation: first, a roll of the dices, then, going with the wind, in Cesariny's translation, the dialogues: a revolution-to-come is more important than the future or the past of the revolution, for example. And so that nothing is missing, heating and light included, we also serve coffee, tea (lapsang souchong), games and other flavours. Among the authors taken to the readers consideration, in this proposal by Thierry Simões (Paris, 1968), we can name: Lewis Carroll, Laurence Sterne, Luis de Camões, Yves Klein, Samuel Beckett, Marcel Duchamp, Guillaume Appollinaire, Gusto Gräser, Erich Mühsam, Gregory Corso, Pedro Tropa, Rui Baião, John Giorno, Francis Ponge, Raymond Roussel, Georges Perec, Honoré de Balzac, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer and the aristocrats William Beckford and Piotr Kropotkin.
