Seeing the world outside, holding hands or with arms wide open, occupying the squares and looking into the eyes of those facing us.

I would like to communicate and think about these thousand forms of stones, which begin as birthing stones, with a group of children. To do so - inspired by Francis Alÿs’ “Children’s Games” series, like a big ricochet - I propose a meeting in the streets whose sole purpose is to play, collectively. The premise is: we’ll always have a stone in our pocket.

We'll meet at Alameda das Fontaínhas and then head to Praça da Alegria, Largo de Soares dos Reis and finish at Sismógrafo. There, in the half-light, towards the end of the afternoon, we will unveil Pedra que pariu in a combination of light and shadow, waiting for the astonishment of those who see things for the first time.

Seeing the world outside so that we can see it better inside.

Rita Senra (Barcelos, 1993) lives and works in Porto. She has a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Her artistic practice develops mainly through drawing and installation, favoring paper as a raw material. Rita intervenes in various ways over different papers, testing the limits of their physical resistance so that they can endure; thus, in her work, fragility is a constant feature and emerges to reclaim the strength and importance of what appears vulnerable. She has been showing her work since 2014 in collective and individual exhibitions. Her work is part both of private collections and the Porto Municipal Art Collection. She has been a member of Sismógrafo since 2016.
