After a guided tour to the exhibition Raw, by António Bolota, artist Patrícia Geraldes introduces us to (dis)comfort. The fragments of materials that compose our homes help us to think the relation our bodies have with architectural elements and the space that surrounds us. It is proposed, then, that we experience the qualities of materials together; those that have accompanied us for millennia and that in the last centuries have fallen out of use: wool, linen, straw, clay, twigs and leaves. Drawing from the idea of small shelters and memories of primitive architecture, we will group, sew, and transform these materials into shelters for the head, for the knee, for the foot…

Patrícia Geraldes (Picote, 1980), lives and works in Porto. Graduated in Painting from FBAUP, she has been developing a body of work that starts from the language of drawing and unfolds into sculpture and installation pieces, focusing on the ancient relationship of the human with nature. She has carried out intervention actions with communities, through public art projects. She is a co-founder member of the collective CampaNice, in Porto, and directs the artistic residencies of the project Encontros da Primavera - Antropologia, Arte Contemporânea e Território.
