The exhibition "In this nest of wasps" brings together sculpture, photography and drawing of Sebastião Resende, a series of works created between the 1980’s and the present day, and a new series of works through which the artist explores issues related to mimesis, that is, the imitation of nature through art.

Sebastião Resende (São Roque, Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal, 1954) has developed his artistic practice since the late 1970s. His career includes more than twenty individual exhibitions, mostly in the areas of sculpture, drawing, photography and painting. In 2014, he presented “Fecit Potentiam” at Sismógrafo, Porto, the initial output of a project he has pursued from 2005 onwards, of which a book was recently launched. His work is represented in several private and institutional collections, namely those of the Serralves Foundation, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the PLMJ Foundation, among others.
