ABOUT HOW TO INSTITUTE A COLLECTIVE IN SANTA MONICAWith Collectiu 1080

Collectiu 1080, formed by Renán Camilo, Marla Jacarilla, and Mónica Rovira, was created by Santa Mònica in Barcelona as an artistic research group. They did not know each other and had never worked together before. The internal dynamics led them to also take on other roles, such as programing the “Video Tuesdays”, the center’s periodical audiovisual programme. In this meeting, they will share their work dynamics, their configuration, and their individual specificities as well as revealing some of the premisses that have converted them into a institution in the context of Santa Mònica.

The session includes the screening of a short-film commissioned to Mònica Rovira, a member of the collective, as a report on the exhibition cycle The tradition that runs through us.
